The quality and features of the LS2 FF386A modular motorcycle helmet compares well with helmets costing two times as much. The flip-up mechanism operates smoothly and glides open with a single button, making it easy to lift the chin bar, even with a gloved hand. The built-in, Full Eclipse drop-down sunshield opens and closes with the touch of a button, making it convenient to shield your eyes from the sun or get more light when you enter a tunnel. This is a motorcycle helmet built for motorcycle riders, whether you're touring the Alaskan highway, or commuting to work. LS2’s 3D Laser Cut comfort foam in the cheek pads, and a washable removable, bacteria and odor resistant liner make for a perfect fit. The aerodynamic shell slices through the wind for a more comfortable ride and less rider fatigue. Aerodynamic Shell

Start with an aerodynamic shell made from LS2 Helmet’s proprietary HPTT composite polycarbonate. This space age material is perfectly suited for the needs of a motorcycle helmet. It’s strong, lightweight and does a great job of dispersing energy.

Full Metal Latch and Mechanism

The mechanism in the 386A is made of metal, not the plastic you find on some other modular helmets. Metal pins and a metal fastener are the best way to secure the chin bar and that’s the way we do it at LS2. The mechanism meets both DOT and ECE standards.

When you open the chin bar, be sure to push it all the way up. You’ll feel a small “click” as you pass the detent when it is wide open. This allows the chin bar to stay up and out of your way, without risk that it will close unexpectedly. PLEASE NOTE: Modular helmets are intended to be used only in the closed position when riding. Open position is for when you are at a stop.

Flip-Up Designed with the Rider in Mind

The LS2 FF386A was designed with the motorcycle rider in mind. The last thing you need when you are riding is to have to “think” about how your helmet operates. The large front tab on the chin bar makes for a natural “pinch” motion to raise and lower the chin bar. It’s large and broad; easy to find, even with a gloved hand. The two stage mouth vent is also easy to find and easy to operate.

Easy to Use Top Vent

Just like all the controls on the FF386A, the two stage top vent is easy to find and easy to operate. Press down to open and slide the button at the back of the vent rearward to close. Simple and easy.

Optically Correct Shield

The shield on the FF386A is optically correct, and it can be removed using our tool less Radial Quick Release knobs. A quarter turn forward and the knobs come free making it a snap to replace your shield. Knobs are designed specifically for the right and left sides, so please be sure to use the correct side when reinstalling.

Full Eclipse Drop Down Sun Shield

One of the most popular features of the FF386A is the Full Eclipse Drop Down Sun Shield. A simple flip of the lever and you can lower the shield for addition protection against the sun, while the push of a button allows it to spring up and out of the way. The shields are removable and replaceable. They’re available in dark, light smoke, and a high viz lens for better visibility when riding in lower light conditions.

Quick Release Chinstrap

The FF386A is finished with a DOT-approved quick release chinstrap, making it easy to get on and off.

The LS2 FF386A is one of the greatest values on the market for a modular, flip-front motorcycle helmet. It has all the features you’ll need and love, at a price that’s hard to beat. It’s another in a long line of LS2 Helmets that offer “the best product for the price and the best price for the product.”
